The Storm bats were quiet most of the game as Division 1 powerhouse Iowa Western took down Southeast, 7-3, Tuesday, Mar. 8, at Council Bluffs.
"Our offense was atrocious," Assistant Coach Tyson Parks wrote on the team's facebook page.
"It's hard to score when you can't get on base," Parks added.
The difference in the game came down to four runs scored by the Reivers, with two outs in the bottom of the 1st inning. They tacked on another run each in the 2nd and 3rd inning,
Southeast managed to get two runs in the top of the 4th, and another one in the top of the ninth.
Grant Van Scoy was a bright spot for the Storm offense. He had a single and scored two runs.
Nate Lorenzen took the loss for Southeast, who drops to 9-7 on the season
Next up for SCC is a four-game road series with Wentworth Military Academy, March 9-10, at Lexington, Mo.
"We will be back at it tomorrow, and hopefully erase this lackluster performance," Parks said.
