Southeast extended their winning streak to eight games after taking two games from Northeast on Friday, Mar. 10 at Christenson Field.
SCC upended the Hawks in the first game 3-2. Northeast struck first with a run in the top of the 3rd inning. The Storm tied it up in the 4th inning, and then went ahead with two runs in the 5th on their way to the win.
Chris Cornish went 2-3 with an RBI. Kaleb Sanderson earned the win, striking out 10 batters while scattering four hits. Rueben Ramirez picked up his 2nd save of the season.
The second game saw Southeast's offense come alive as they cranked out 16 hits, but had to sweat a little in the final inning of a 13-11 win over NCC.
SCC took a comfortable 13-8 lead into the top of the 9th, but the Hawks were not ready to concede the game just yet.
Andrew Alstad gave up a lead-off walk and two base hits before a wild pitch brought an NCC runner home. Another walk loaded the bases and the SCC coaching staff made a change and brought in Josh Lallier.
Lallier misfired past the catcher which brought another run home to make it 13-10. The pitcher fanned the next batter, before Northeast's Christian Dumont uncorked an RBI single to bring Northeast closer at 13-11. However, Lallier locked down the inning, striking out the next two batters and ending the game.
SCC improves their record to 9-6 on the season.
