Storm Baseball Sweeps Weekend Series With Two Wins Over Northeast 7-2 & 19-11

SCC had the brooms out as they swept Northeast Community College on a chilly Saturday at Christianson Field.

Assistant Coach Tyson Parks said the pitchers "excelled" during the four game series with the Hawks.

"A ton of credit to our staff for their efforts. I think against Northeast CC our staff struck out 41 batters, and only walked 10. So we really limited free bases, and that is key for any team, " Parks said.

Justin Reinkall and Josh Lallier combined to give up just three hits and struck out a total of eight batters in the 9-2 win over NCC. But the Storm also got going with the bats. Aaron Palensky, Alec Lee, and Jacob Arizpe all hit home runs to pace the offense.

The second game featured plenty of bats for both teams, in a marathon game where Southeast prevailed 19-11. Ross Lowe highlighted the offensive attack with a 5th inning grandslam. The team finished with 15 hits, and Lowe turned in a total of seven RBIs in the game.

Parks says timely hitting has been a key part in SCC's success.

"A ton of credit to our staff for their efforts, " Parks explained.  "I think against Northeast CC our staff struck out 41 batters and only walked 10 so we really limited free bases and that is key for any team. "

Southeast has now won 10 in a row.
