The Storm snapped a two-game losing streak by taking care of Lake Region State on the weekend of Mar. 24-25 at Christianson Field.
SCC erupted to a 10-1 lead after three innings in route to a 14-5 win in game one. Mason Prososki led the batting with two doubles and an RBI. Alec Lee had a double and a single, while driving home two runs. McClain Wilson picked up his first win of season on the mound for the Storm.
Lake Region struck first in game two, scoring four runs in the top of the 1st inning. But Southeast responded with 12 straight runs over the next three innings to hold steady in a 13-8 win. Brenton Davis and Mason Prososki led a hitting frenzy for the Storm. Davis had three hits and a home run, with four RBIS. Prososki had three hits and three RBIs.
It was boom or bust for pitcher Joesph Vargas, who earned the win. The sophomore struck out 10 batters, but gave up eight hits and a home run.
Southeast breezed to a 10-1 win in the series finale. The Storm were helped by four Lake Region errors. Aaron Palensky highlighted the offense with a three-run homer. And Brenton Davis continued his hot series at the plate. Davis produced four RBIs on two hits.
Winning pitcher Justin ReinKall (1-0) gave up just two hits, and struck out six batters to shut down Lake Region. SCC improved their record to 16-8 with the sweep.
