Aaron Palensky kicked off the series with MCC in dramatic fashion. The Freshman drove in three runs off two homers to power SCC to a 10-1 opening win on Friday Mar. 30 at Christenson Field. Centerfielder Will Hanafan also had three RBI's and a double. Kaleb Sanderson struck out 11 batters in six innings to lock down the win.
In Game two, Southeast dropped five runs in the 2nd and 5th inning in route to a breezy 13-3 win over MCC. Brenton Davis and Trevor Jurjevich each served up a home run as SCC's hitters powered out 14 hits. Davis had three RBIs to lead the Storm. Brock Olsen also contributed with a two-run double. Joesph Vargas went the distance on the mound, as he gave up just three hits, while striking out five batters.
On the second day of the series MCC-Longview showed more fight. SCC broke open a 3-3 tie with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take an 8-3 lead. The Storm held on to win 8-5. Southeast unleashed home runs by Brenton Davis, Dawson Degnan, and Trevor Jurjevich. Jurjevich was a perfect 3-3 at the plate. It took four pitchers but Justin ReinKall did enough to earn the win for SCC.
Game four featured a walk-off RBI single for Chris Cornish in the bottom of the 7th, as Southeast edged MCC 4-3. Southeast trailed 2-0 in the 4th beore Ross Lowe drove in a three-run homer to take a 3-2 lead. Cornish and Lowe were the highlights for an otherwise quiet bat for SCC.
Josh Lallier earned the win for SCC, who improves to 22-8 on the season with the sweep.
