Mason Prososki's lead-off home run jump started the Storm offense to a 14-4 ten run-ruled game Monday, April 16, at Christiansen Field.
SCC tacked on another run to move ahead 2-0 after one inning. Highland was their own worst enemy in the 2nd. A throw to first base from pitcher Zachary Biddingson was wild, allowing Prososki to advance two bases. Then a balk from Biddingson scored Prososki, making it 3-0.
Ke Shawn Ballard hit a two-run homer in the 3rd to pull Highland within one run at 3-2. Southeast would rebound with one more run in the bottom of the inninig to make it 4-2.
Four more runs came across in the 4th to make it 8-2. And the hot hitting Storm followed it up with five more in the 5th to make it 13-3. Highland added a run in the top of the 6th. Highland pitcher Dalton Burt loaded the bases in the bottom of the 6th with no outs, and then walked David Fleita to end the game 14-4.
Southeast pounded out 12 hits and were helped by three errors. Mason Prososki went 4-4 at the plate. Trevor Jurgevich knocked out a solo shot. Dawson Degnan led the team with three RBIs on two hits. Will Hannafan also had a productive day. He turned in a triple to go along with three runs, and an RBI.
Mark Timmons got the win for the Storm, striking out seven batters while scattering four hits.
SCC improved their record to 28-9 on the year.
