Lady Storm defeated by the Fort Scott Greyhounds 78-52

Turnovers and poor shooting plagued the Lady Storm as they fell to the visting Greyhounds 78-52 on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Holiday Classic in Beatrice.

SCC fell behind 45-18 at the halftime break. However, the team played much better in the second half, outscoring Fort Scott 34-33 in the second.

Katiea Watene was a bright spot offensively for the team. She was a perfect 5-5 from the field, including a three-pointer, on her way to a team leading 12 points. Dalen Piilati added 10 points, including 2-3 from beyond the arc. Emily Toman came off the bench to provide some muscle underneath the basket, ripping down six rebounds.

The Storm could not overcome the turnover bug, as they gave the ball away 28 times. The loss dropped SCC to 1-9 on the season.
